But isn't he justly forgotten? He perhaps wasn't as irredeemably bad as he's usually regarded, but I don't think Simon's minions could find as many admirable aspects to his career as they did with Polk.

No. It's Tyler.
2
Ah, they'd all be dead by now anyway.
2
Me neither. Plus, I didn't know where Al Bundy went to school. Am I allowed to post here?
1
Well that's cheating. I guess the question is what do your students hear about him?
1
I'm curious too---did you watch the video?
1
"Based?" Explain.

Adams's win was perhaps a little shady, but he, himself was certainly not corrupt. He was one of the greatest men to ever be president, which, sadly, is not quite the same as being one of the greatest presidents.

I pay for premium too, and happily my computer has this feature called "Fast Forward."
1
I don't know. Maybe if I watched the video I'd have some idea.
1
@adamfisher9584 Alec Douglas-Home!!! (That was a prime minister. right?)
1
The Republican party we know in the present day bears little resemblance to any historical Republican party. Do you think Theodore Roosevelt would recognize it? Or Dwight Eisenhower?
1
That doesn't necessarily make you a history nerd. It might make you an idiot savant.
1
Closer to "ignored" than "glossed over."
1
Right. He's lumped in with Fillmore and Pierce and he shouldn't be.
1
Idiotic, but actually kind of cool. Reminds me (idiotically on my part) of the racehorse Cigar, who retired after winning $9,999,815, just $185 short of ten million. And yes, many, many people have said "Close, but no Cigar." Memo to self: drink less before posting.
1
They should learn how to take notes then.
1
One term president---from your lips (actually fingers) to God's ears.
1
Now that's just silly. Slightly humorous, but silly. Or, to quote Arte Johnson, "Very interesting....but stupid."
