There are flat earthers with master degrees in physics. Education can't fix this. Some people have a psychological need to belong to a select small group who "knows the REAL truth". It's typically people who are mediocre (at best) at everything, no matter how hard they try, but have been brought up to belive that life "owes" them great things. Only psychological screening, and a hardcore unwillingness to let loonies hold positions of power, can solve this.
