  1. It is also legal to verbify it: "The gizmo went sproinging across the floor", for example. The term is not unique to firearms lingo, but also rather common among watch makers (for obvious reasons). Canadians have a tendency to cal it "springisproing" and "springisproinging". Dunno why, but AvE (a fairly well known youtuber in the tech field) is rather insistent on it, so I guess we should consider it gospel.
