I'm confused. How can you "move away" from something you've repeatedly and explicitly said you never were? How does that work?

@abuibu Well, that would certainly be the charitable assessment, and perhaps you're right, but I'd posit that it's at least as likely that it's a case of an owner who's discovered his business model is rapidly collapsing and is now scrambling against time in a desperate effort to save it. As I alluded to in my original post, it's so very curious how so many news outlets are all of a sudden moving towards "the center" and pledging a return to "objectivity" when they've all been claiming for years that that's what they've always been. It's never been a problem to spout off massively biased content nor carry water for one side over the other in a political debate as long as the cash kept rolling in but now that legacy media can see the cliff in front of them, they're having this come-to-Jesus moment and expecting the rest of us to just forget what's gone on in the past.
