If the war ends in say, about mid-year or so, (doubtful, but let's just say) what do you want to bet all these rosy promises will go right out the window? You want to know what would really get their attention, though? The Americans pulling up stakes and moving everything east. And along with that, perhaps reducing their NATO status to something like an "associate" member or similar. If Germany suddenly was without American protection and all that sweet, sweet American cash they pump into the German economy...... ya think Poland might like a chunk of that?... maybe that might lead to oh, let's say a moment of clarity and perhaps a bit of a change in attitudes.
