  1. Vietnam was and remains a natural and very valuable US ally if the US would only realize this and work on developing the relationship. The country which Ho Chi Minh admired most of all was the USA and if the Americans had told the French to gather up their army and GTH out of a country that wasn't theirs, that stupid war would never have happened.
