That's propaganda from the UN. Multiculture has some really nice things but if the migration rate and quantity is too high and the migrants quality is too different from the society it causes divisiveness and that's the bad side to it. Japan has a very high quality culture so talking "nostrums and mantras" as if they're always true and applicable is a gross mistake to make as if any country should be the same as any other country. The only thing Japan can do is CONTROL MIGRATION for: 1. Quality Control = Select high quality people and/or people capable of assimilating into Japanese culture and society faster. 2. Control Quantity and Rate Flow = Putting a cap on how many come and how diverse they are eg if they're very different or low quality deny so the absorption capacity can take effect Why do you say "Japan needs to catch-up"? How exactly when it's a perfectly well run society with respect to many other societies in many measures and benefits from it's own unique aspects that benefit it's own citizens?

@sambrewster3889 The Japanese have learnt a lot from the West and from China and also managed to keep their own enriching culture: It might be as good or better than Multiculturalism which imho causes many problems because it's a trojan horse for Mass Immigration above the democratic process.
