My impression is that she does not come across as Japanese. With that said, I'm sure she understands Japanese people very well growing up there. It is not controversial to state the above impression. I've seen other people of other ethnicity/racial background "born and bred" ie born and growing up in Japan who absolutely come across as Japanese apart from their physical appearance. Information if high accuracy is thus useful whatever outcome. Maybe that is a reason for her to study abroad and "find her own feet" in the world? It seems a good choice. Her wonderful mixture of linguistic inheritance and experience really do make her a strong candidate to study literature and linguistics and excel at these academic disciplines. The interview by Takashii was very well done. He inspires me to wish to be able to speak fluent Japanese.

@snsdwesley1 Yes, I think this has been shown in Takeshii's videos. It is what makes Japanese culture both fascinating, worthwhile - and 'quite challenging'.
