  1. The economic stats are a total illusion imho. If you look around you and see a "high trust society" and the calibre of people is "high" then you invest in the most important resource. Economy is designed to serve Japan. In West, everyone serves the economy and economy is promoted as god in elections along with celebrities while there is a lot of atomization of people. All Western Media is broadcasting propaganda because NATO/US/EU politicians created the conditions for war in Ukraine and focus on human cost/emotion to deflect the collateral they caused (at least half of with the other half from Russia). The news is full propaganda. I'd prefer news-reporting on harmonious subjects such as deer tracks in the snow in the urban area, as opposed to misinformation that just causes drama/controversy and pertetuates the mistakes of poltiicans in their geo-politics onto their populations. Charity industry is deeply political and divisive in the West as a negative side product. There's many homeless, broken homes and yet they are neglected to the issues on the tv. That said, charity is a big virtue in Christian tradition so this is probably a good thiing from that source originally. Agree about over-time work being a problem in Japan however. Humans should live in balance for healthy life. The "economic system" of life is not good for this. The imperative is on the economy too much and not the humans.
