I am afraid ‘Pravda TV’ is mixing up Moscow’s backwaters and the rest of Europe… 🤣 I’m off to get some scented candles for Christmas, and get some fresh bread and snacks at our local Supermarket.. Really. Russian propaganda IS coming from the local loony-bin. I have nó other explanation for the deluded, paranoid and psychotic crap the presenters there spout… they’re weird.. But, given the idiocythat bubbles from the addled minds of the Putin-bots under Jake’s video’s I shouldn’t be surprised anymore… and yet.. there’s àlways some completely insane Russian TV Presenter going ‘hold my beer (or vodka)… their cognitive dissonant madness is actually awe-inspiring, tbh..😂.

  4. Large parts of Europe have their own natural gas, and rerouted some of it to countries that do not have, say, North Sea gas, or they liquefied it and just shipped it to f.i. Germany. I live close to a sluice complex, and daily see many ships with those giant soccer balls that contain liquefied gas, steaming towards Europe’s inlands. Added to that, oil mostly comes from quatar, Saudi Arabia and other oil countries. It’s only marginally more expensive, but I already saw our petrol price dip by a few cents.

  7. That inflation is mainly the after effect of 2 years of Covid lockdowns and such. It’ll take some time before the costs of that are recuperated, war, or no war. Russia’s crazy antics don’t exactly help, but are not really a factor, since The Netherlands have their own natural gas, and quite a lot of it, not just under Groningen, but in their territorial waters too..

  15. Ah..Yes! 1989.. I remember those funny days pretty well. The thing that was most entertaining was that the East Germans at first refused to believe there was more goods in storage than there was in the shopping windows and displays. Talked to an elderly lady, that was absolutely baffled that shoe boxes àctually contained shoes, a left and a right THAT WERE THE SAME SIZE.. She told me that usually when new shoes came in, people bought several pairs, and traded amongst themselves to get matching pairs. And, indeed. The amount of cars in good nick also really stumped the East Germans.

I shared Your pain (and attacked nostrils) Those farmers tend to burn everything , empty fertilizer bags, empty cattlefeed sacks, old hay, trash, those blue, plastic pesticide containers.. ugh. And nobody tried to invoke environmental laws, until my battle-ready mom made a case. All hell broke lose, fines were given.. but in the end they got the message. The air was a lot more bearabla after that. This was in the late 70's..
