  1. It won't freeze, but parts get very lumpy, and nasty residue starts sinking which thoroughly clogs pumps, and can even make the mechanisms inside pumps, shatter. Standing crude in pipes=bad, simple as that. You'd normally flush everything out before you switch-off pumping stations and relays, and even thèn, people have to actually scrape the residue from everything (Horrible, stinky and dangerous job which can only be done properly while wearing gas masks at the least, but the pay is more than exellent.) Think trying to clear tar from your feet when after a beach walk, you got some of it stuck on yer feet, but then from giant reservoirs and pipelines.

  5. Wouldn't surprise me. It's bubbling under the surface in Chechnya. Khadyrov finally seems to be seen as the russian quisling and traitor he actually is. Things are going to heat-up in many a RF republic besides Chechnya. Let's just hope no-one actually has the keys to the nukes stashed here&there in those Asian Republics. ( Stashed there in Soviet times to 'spread the risk' and be able to shoot back if "The West" would unleash a 'first strike' on Moscow. <-- Russian paranoia for that isn't exactly new, You see)

  8. Kasakhs were the first to confront Russians with 'Z' stickers on their cars. Some beating 'may' have occurred.. so to say. Kasakhs are none too fond of Moscovites.. I believe somewhere in the early months of the Ukraine-war, there was a firefight between Kazakh border troops and Russian soldiers that tried to smuggle stolen military hardware, resulting in 200 dead Russian soldiers. I can't find the references again. So, it might be untrue. Suffice to say, Kazakhs rather see the backs of the Russians stationed there.

  11. They're quite something, aren't they? They've been going on about that 'stunning victory' since March.. and every time they announce the next 'stunning Russian victory'... Ukraine kicks the orcs out of yet another large chunk of Ukraine. I'd suggest to them to look for a job at RT. Spouting weirdly deluded bullpucky is kind RT's "thing". They'd fit right in.

  13. No dictator has ever survived losing a war. Putain knóws this. Hence his plans to skedaddle when Russia implodes. He has nó intention to end-up dangling from a lamppost in Moscow, or being shot in some backroom like the last Tsar and his family when the populus awakes from their propaganda-induced slumber.. It also explsains the sudden nuclear sabre-rattling. It's mainly meant for the 'home market' to keep the quarter-wit serfs from realising Russia has run-out of options afa preventing political and economical implosion goes. $53.- a barrel is the death-knell for Russia's oil industry. Just maintaining the installations already costs between $30.- or even $40.- per barrel, depending on the region where it is pumped-up.. (Super cold regions cost way more- even in normal transport, than mild climate regions)

  15. Ukraine has 1000km range drones now. They tested a few, they worked and negated the -apparently pretty crappy, Russian air defence, so, I'd say "stay tuned" I wouldn't be too surprised if Ukraine started to not just target military airfields, but also oil rigs and storage facilities.
