The breech quite possibly having developed micro-fissures, let alone the locking pins that keep the back on the gun when it goes 'boom'. You may try. The result will quite probably be a muffled, but loud "DOONK' and then smoke starts to pour from all other rusted holes in the turret. And then yer commanding officer has the nice task to inform yer loved ones that 'there was an accident' and they couldn't scrape enough what was left of you, from the inside of the turret. "So sorry"

  3.  @MrJC1  Not to Russians. Remember that more than a million Russians died in Stalingrad. And after the war, Stalin killed another 15 to 20 million. Their idea of 'catastrophic' differs somewhat from the ideas of people that actually are mentally sound.
