  4. I very much doubt the Ukrainians will be able to use a lot of it. Their state of maintenance was already abysmal when the orcs used it. However, the Ukrainians now have spare-parts galore. And they have proven to be pretty handy in making one new, fully functional tank/APC/Truck from 2 or three badly maintained ones. And they are otherwise also resourceful. From the beginning of the war, they checked about any tank/apc that they blew to smithereens, if the standard issued boxes of spares and tools were in good order. They made recycling into an art.

  7. Same for hundreds of vehicles. They ALL have to be transferred to the Ukrainian road-law mandated numberplates and all!! And when they're too busy with that.. Russia will pull-out their super-duper-elite spetsnatz with their fully functional-not-conking-out-on-parades Armata's, and Ukraine will fall in 2 days !! Mark my words!! (caretaker prepares high-strength anti-depressant and sedative, while gently guiding deluded Putin-troll back to his room... )

Wait for the bomb disposal crew or someone with knowledge of boobytraps. You wouldn't be the first grunt that got his head blown-off when opening the top hatch of an abandoned enemy tank" Rather sobering, to be honest. And when we learned to, indeed, rig stuff, it became even more clear how dangerous it could get..

  25.  @phbrinsden  Which is strange. Even an elderly T-72 can hit 70km/h if it must (It'll spit and drop parts from the outside like there's no tomorrow, but it càn do it).. Not as fast as a Leopard 2A6, or even a 2A4 with the war seal removed, but fast enough for a quick retreat. I have the vague suspicion that they were about to run-out of fuel, and a tank gobbling 2 to 3 litres of Diesel every Km, isn't exactly the best option. Trucks get much farther with more people in it for way less fuel. But admittedly, that's just speculation on my part.

  26. Hmm.. I think that if Russia indeed totally implodes, something like a Marshall-plan will be implemented. The mistake of WW1 was not repeated, and post-nazi Germany got a lot of help regaining its footing, leading to "Das Wirtschaftswunder". Germany later did something like that to help the former DDR stay afloat (At great cost to BRD Germans! But they willingly paid-up) It's on-going, but it prevented further wars.

Russia has proven to be pretty inept in about every field, so a careless civil servant leaving something in the scanner buffer, and someone accidentally (or on purpose.. not ALL Russians are fans of this war) goes "Ctrl-V" and sends it out, doesn't't seem too far-fetched. It happens. Even with state secrets!! Remember that hoohah when the Russian press accidentally published the àctual number of 9800 KIA Russian military personnel, instead of the "State sanctioned" 1400 ?

  40. During the Cold War they were mùch better equipped and trained....... After the implosion of the USSR, maintenance, training, and all that, became really bad. No money anymore. And when Russia tried to modernise the army, navy and airforce, it is estimated that 60% of the allocated funds "disappeared" in the pockets of Putin, military honcho's and Putin's mates amongst the oligarchs.

And Ukraine is not even there, yèt. which.. is actually kinda hilarious.. the orcs already ran.. even without a Ukrainian soldier in sight (I could be wrong, though.
