@GARDENER42 A cockup that 'conveniently' happened when Ukraine delivered the biggest blow to Russian supply-lines : ~The blowing-up of that pretty darn important bridge. (A truck "spontaneously combusted' according to Russian sources. :P and seriously damaged the bridge )

Yup. Joe gets zilch.

DANG! That chain-smoking conscript.. AGAIN!!!!

I smell the distinct stink of Putin trolls reporting them for something like "promoting terrorism" or something. OR (and we are getting into tinfoil-hat territory) there are 'forces' within YT THAT PUSHED FOR IT ( russian oligarch money? ) By the by. An interesting side-observation: A Russian girl that makes somewhat 'sexy' ASMR video's nèver had any problems.. But the móment she was openly criticising the war in Ukraine on instagram..(different platform, but also closely monitored by Russian trolls) she immediately got age restricted and demonetised on Youtube.. Interesting coincidence, wouldn't You say?
2
Not really. Decidedly anti-American/anti west media is unaffected. Crazy loony religious channels are also still monetized. As are channels that call for armed revolt against Biden's administration. This is really something else. I wouldn't be surprised it's pressure from expat Russian oligarchs that have invested in Google.

Wrong. They still show ads, but the creators of the vids get nothing of the ad-revenue.
1
Ehh.. Trump is a 'leftie' now? (He's a big fan of Putin. Has OPENLY stated as such) Better stop with the moonshine. It rots yer brain, bud.
1
..shame that the revenue of those ads.. doesn't go to Jake, or the other content creators. Don't make the mistake to think that 'demonetising' means "no more ads" it doesn't.
1
You are a really nasty piece of work, mr.
1
There àre Russian expats that own considerable amounts of shares in google. Make of that what You want..
1
@Nick Jeffrey "You, doing your job is proof that you're only in it for the money". Think about that. Nòw do you realise how idiotic you sound? Do you have ANY f*cking clue HOW much actual WORK is involved in making a good, coherent video???
1
F off. Making video's is a 'real job' in TV land too, might you have missed that. Sheesh. Hit yer head as a baby?
1
Interesting, isn't it? The most serious blow to the orcs.. and "poooff" suddenly ALL pro-Ukraine Chanels de-monetized.
1
The vids are still visible, but the makers have suddenly lost the income from ads. It stinks of an aimed action by forces behind Youtube that don't like reports of Russia's disastrous failure of an invasion. I wouldn't at all surprised if Russian money was somehow involved, tbh.
1
Ehh.. whût???
1
..Or at least Google's paymasters?
1
Does CNN live in Ukraine?, Does FOX live in Ukraine? Does MSNBC live in Ukraine? Does The Mail live in Ukraine?
1
No more income from ads and little banners.
1
@steviejohnson378 Seems like it..
1
Hmm.. soo.. either a hack (they rather not acknowledge), or some idiotic algorithm gone rogue. Well, at the least You got back what's rightfully Yours.
1
Nope!
1
Not really. Ultra right-wing and loony religion channels still make m money from ads.
1
Bots. Simple algorithms that mass report channels by name. Fill in a channel name, and let them loose every time a new video appears. You can make 1000's of complaints/flags appear in a couple of minutes. And it takes manpower to actually check the complaints on legitimacy. So, if a channel is suddenly flagged a gazillion time, it's easier ( read: cheaper) to just demonetise automatically and send automatically generated e-mails about "promoting war" or "profiteering"

Let's all hope so.
