I dunno. The 'lag' would make piloting quite the challenge over those distances. It can be done. But it would not surprise me if some were piloted from, say, Germany, or the UK.

@stefanweilhartner4415 That'll be something... IF (and that's a BIG 'if') that would transpire, "Unintended Consequences" will have a seriously deep meaning for Russia for the foreseeable future.

A tad too much 'Sci-Fi' here.. but in due time? Wouldn't't surprise me one jot if I see something like that idea actually being developed and used.

@orlock20 Well.. modern anti-ship missiles make far bigger booms. Technology has advanced since WW2. Ask the Brits how they fared against Exocets.. Not even the most modern ones at the time.

@daszieher Hmm.. depends on the wavelength of the laser. Who knows, maybe it uses a variation that can't be seen by the current detectors, but can be seen by the other deadly toys that are drip-dripping into Ukraine. Hence the "Ghost" moniker. A drone that can paint a target without the target, or observers being even vaguely aware.

@isubtothebest6020 Hahahaha.. No.

Prolly an NDA? They're allowed to state the deadly toy exist, but not what it actually can do. Sounds like common sense to me.

Interesting. Blinken looks actually angry.. Russia better start watching the skies..

Let's just say that the younger generation knows damn well how TOR and VPN's work. Telegram ( one of the few social media platforms Russia seems unable to block) gave detailed instructions how to config those when the invasion started. Interestingly, Instagram is also blocked, but clever Russians already found ways around it. As I understand it, even routing traffic via VPN's and private servers in Tadjikistan.. of all places. ( oh, and Georgia.. Despite having a Putin-puppet at the helm, internet is still largely open. )

Then.. why haven't they done as such? Me thinks you are pulling 'facts' from yer nether regions. Facts @ 5 kopeck a post.

"Do not panic buy" The Government said.. Bwahaha.. No, THAT will do the trick, suuure. Remember then first week of Covid quarantaine almost everywhere? No Toiletpaper.. Many people must have cellars full of toiletpaper still... 🤣

Ehrm.. Tiny detail: Putin has to be deposed first. Barring a full-on coup by his minions, I don't see that happening. If he stays in power, he just giggles at the threats of the ICC, and goes on doing what he does.

Yes, yes, appeasement has always worked like a charm with autocrats... "Give them what they want, and they'll go away" Sheesh. Another one that hasn't learned one yet from history.

Neptune Anti Ship Missiles. End. Of.
1
Unlikely, since they will be registered as "missing" , not "deceased" despite their mangled, burnt bodies rotting in ditches around Kyiv. Ukraine tried clearing them, collecting the remains. Handing them over to the Red Cross, so they could, as a neutral party, bring the remains "home" .. Putin didn't want any of it. "Too inconvenient" I gather.

Difference being that if You give them the middle-finger, You won't end-up in a 15 year long state-provided health-spa in Siberia.. :P
