People who just go to the gym for the equipment are more or less just renting equipment and you don't need a lot of it to cover your whole body. (Actually you need 0 equipment if you know what you're doing, but a chin up bar and a few other things are helpful) The reason to be the member of a gym are access to personal trainers and classes and even then only if you're actually going.

@trala8911 We had freezing rain the week before Christmas and the sidewalks were literal sheets of ice a couple inches thick. Even with studs on my shoes, it was still slippery as an ice rink, but also kind of tilty as well.

@jarretgosbee7717 Yes, although a foldable stationary bike isn't necessarily that expensive. A pretty decent one can be had for a couple hundred bucks and takes up no space.
