@badluck5647 The issue there is that the DoJ is part of the executive branch, along with all federal law enforcement, the military and potentially the national guard if they get federalized. The Posse Comitatus Act does prevent the military from operating on US soil, but if we're at the point where that's relevant, we're already screwed whether he breaks that law or not. The failure here is that we've got one party that doesn't know how to fight, and the other party routinely runs on being anti-government with a bunch of people too stupid to see that this sort of thing is largely inevitable when a sufficient chunk of the politicians subscribe to an anti-government view where any government is to be avoided.

Which agency? Apart from DoD which neither party seems interested in dealing with, what other agencies or departments are going rogue?

It's not yet, but I'm not optimistic as the GOP politicians that would be needed to impeach the POTUS seem to be doubling and tripling down on this and SCOTUS hasn't yet given any indication that they realize how badly they screwed up. The lower courts are still holding the line, but it's hard to say what's really going to happen as he could get shut down by SCOTUS where they could fix their mistakes at any time. One of the things about SCOTUS decisions that a lot of people don't realize is that they can attach things that are unrelated to a particular ruling to it, so they could take away qualified immunity or Trumps general immunity to pretty much anything any time that they publish a ruling. They could also slip language into a ruling to suggest that they were hasty when they deferred so much power to the executive branch to embolden lower courts, and they could just flat out refuse to hear cases where the lower courts ruled against the madness. That being said, I do think it's worth being very worried and it's likely also worth calling your congress critters and demanding that they do the right thing. Especially, if you happen to have a GOP representative or senator.

@WhiteLeper Finally? The US Federal government gets audited regularly, it's mostly just the DoD that routinely fails.

What isn't being audited? Trump fired the inspectors general that do that, and the only department I know of that hasn't been passing audits is the DoD. This is a made of thing to justify fascists taking over.

It doesn't happen often because the underlying reason for the agency to be created doesn't usually go away. For things that are more temporary in nature they tend to just delegate that to whichever agency is closest to the issue.
