  1.  @James-w6w2e  Where are you going to find the prison space for that? Any theft under the limit is a misdemeanor. The issue tends to be getting a response and actually getting it prosecuted.

  2. The local prosecutor here was doing something similar. One of the big issues with this sort of thing is that the total isn't cumulative. So, if somebody steels $900 a day, they won't get hit with that felony on day 2 when they're up to nearly $2k, Which is kind of a problem.
