  1. It doesn't, you can also be pardoned if you are convicted. However, being pardoned does not remove the conviction from your record, that would require a judge to intervene and decide that the record needs to be either expunged or sealed. But, in any case, if you're pardoned, you typically still have a conviction on your record forever.

  2. Yes, he didn't even pardon all the people that were closer to him that were arrested and convicted, I'm not sure why people would assume that he'd pardon the rest of them when he had the option to do so prior to leaving office last time.

  5.  @krysis54  From what I can tell, that's technically unknown as in the few times in the past when that was done, nobody challenged it in court, they just accepted that pardons work like that. It's really hard to say what the result would be right now if somebody did decide to challenge a pro-active pardon. The result could look very different depending upon whether it's Hunter or somebody that MAGA folks like.
