I foam roll my back as it helps me get the vertebrae moving again after a day hunched over at work. But, simply using the roller isn't going to be enough if you're not doing something to remedy the underlying cause.

The problem is that if you're still picking your nose as an adult, that it takes more than just wanting to stop to stop. It's probably something along the lines of body focused repetitive behavior at that point and it's tricky to break a habit that we've likely had for decades and are doing without much thought. I'm guilty as well and the fact that I've got chronic inflammation in there doesn't help.

I've had good luck foam rolling my back, but once it's unlocked, I need to ensure that the spinal erectors and abs, in particular, are strong enough to do their job. It's made a pretty massive difference as I spend a lot of time hunched over at work.
