God I'm sick of this quote... The Arabs were trying to defend themselves. They were afraid that many Pan-Arab sentiments will came after their lost in the Six Day War, not because of Islam but the freedom of the Palestinians, the rise of Pan-Arabism and a lot more

"their land back" lmao Israeli ancestors were just ex-Ashkenazis.

This war was a part of the proxy war between the US and Soviet Union. The Egyptians and Syrians were Pan-Arabist at that time and they believed that the whole Arab world should be united under one nation. Most people disagreed with this idea and they are Muslims living in the southern Middle East who still adopted monarchy (Saudi Arabia, UAE and many more). No religions were included in this war. Just how cruel the Pan-Arabs were...

@patriciaburlow8469 this war is a part of both the Arab Cold War and the Cold War. Have you ever heard of proxy war? The Soviets gave the Egyptians and Syrians T 54/T 55's and AK 47's while the US and the UK gave Israel the Centurion tank, M48 Patton and FN FAL. For military, Israel won by tanks but lost by rifles.

No, no not Islam. It's Pan Arabs because Egypt is getting tanks and guns from the USSR and both Egypt and Syria are Pan Arabs.

This war is a part of the proxy war of the US and the USSR and the decline of Pan-Arabism. No religions were included in this war.

They didn't really lose on this war though. The Egyptian AK 47 is much more reliable and better than their FN FAL. Plus, many Israeli jets were lost in the wars due to Soviet controllable rockets (IT 1, Shturm S).

@Shotgun_Only it was inconsclusive I think because Egypt got back some of their eastern Sinai Lands. Later in 1982 Israel gave Egypt their Sinai Peninsula and most of the Israeli soldiers left and went back to their "homeland" because of too many rebellions by the Egyptian civilians living in the Peninsula.

lmao the 1960-1970's are the start of the rise of Pan-Arabism. Pan-Arabism literally focuses to unite the Arab world to one country and fought against colonialists (these includes Israel as they believed that the country was a tool made by capitalists powers). This war is a part of the proxy war between the USSR and the US, not about Islam and Judaism.
