Comments by "parva dhami" (@parvadhami980) on "How to read PMO committee report on relative percentage decline in Hindu u0026 rise in Muslim population" video.
Yet West Bengal's population grew by 13.9% and Gujarat 's population grew by 21%. According to 2011 census How's that possible?
26
Muslim growth rate peaked in 1981-91 While that of Hindus peaked in 1961-71 Fertility rate of Muslims according to the latest NFHS data is 2.34 while that of Hindus is 1.94 2005-6 NFHS data shows that fertility rate of Hindus was at 2.4 Hence Muslims are 15-20 years Behind Hindus in terms of demographic change and stabilisation
6
@shobhitdagur1086 it's 2.2% as of 2017 census data
5
@ÆßV There's 0 justification of illegal immigrants. However the constant exaggeration and Doomsday predictions are laughable
4
@dollartreeshark6786 yet peak of population in Bangladesh will occur Before India (according to the UN).
4
@superhitb according to 2017 there are 40,000 Rohingya in India. Even if they are 4,00,000 today then it would be equivalent to drop in the ocean
4
Interesting that Hinduism is fastest growing religion in Pakistan
3
@mountolympus1098 Then why the exaggeration of few lakhs of Bangladeshi immigrants to several crores ?
3
@AmalTan What is also interesting is that share of Muslims in 2011 census is 14.23% but in this paper it's showing 14.09% !
2
@ankitasen8105 Bihar population is 13.07 Crores according to the 2023 caste survey
1
@pernemlong9363 Immigration also happens in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra yet their growth rate is lesser than Gujarat. This is because their TFR is Less than Gujarat. Also the proportion of Gujarati/Kutchi speaking people in Gujarat is 87% which means that only about 50-60 lakh people are outsiders, mainly from Hindi belt.
1
@pmt7483 Bengal population grew by 13% and Gujarat population grew by 21%. According to the last census. I wonder if "Crores of Bangladeshi" shifted to Gujarat
1
@sundeepnag2513 Only the census figures are the most reliable. Until that happens all these predictions are mere extrapolation and Guess works
1
@sundeepnag2513 But Christian percentage is almost the same in both the reports
1
The most reliable data is that of the census. Everything else is secondary
1
@bambu3954 The Reduced no. Of Hindu Migrants entering India, Greater proportion of Hindus in Sindh (7% in 1998 census vs. 8.7% in 2017 census)
1
@dollartreeshark6786 Then why does UN project that Bangladesh's population will peak BEFORE India in 2058?
1
@srivatsanrajan7839 Exactly that is why absolute growth in Minorities population gives rise to Higher percentage Growth
1
The data used in this paper varies with that of the Census. For example the Indian census of 2011 puts the % of Hindus at 79.8%. however here for 2015 the % of Hindus is mentioned to be 78%. The very same census shows the % of Sikhs at 1.73% vs. 1.85% as shown in the paper. Again Muslims formed 14.2 % in 2011 Census figures against 14.09% as shown in the paper.
1
@mountolympus1098 then what explains the DECLINE in % of Muslims (14.2 to 14.09) and an INCREASE in % of Sikhs (1.73 to 1.85)? Interesting that the % of Sikhs in Punjab has DECLINED by 2% from 59.9% to 57.7% from 2001 to 2011 census figures.
1
@bambu3954 the fact is that despite state sponsored hate Hindus have held strongly in Pakistan
1
@AmalTan Only the census can determine that. The census is the MOST reliable data
1
@AmalTan there is a gap of 15-20 yrs between both the religious groups. Eventually that too will narrow as the fertility rate won't be below 1.
1
@shobhitdagur1086 Which means that % Hindus can even be higher than what is reported.
1
@AmalTan Nevertheless Indian Census data is the MOST reliable survey as it includes 99.99% of India's population unlike such surveys that include smaller sample sizes
1
@AmalTan Also Jammu and Kashmir the Muslim majority state/UT had a fertility rate of 1.4 according to the NFHS 19-20 survey. Henceforth the fertility rates will converge.
1
@AmalTan If in Jammu and Kashmir the TFR is 1.4 then there will be almost 0 difference between Hindus and Muslims (68%). It is IMPOSSIBLE for Muslims to have TFR above 2
1
@AmalTan 🎉For Bihar the caste Survey (2023) has shown that Muslims % has increased by 0.7% points and Hindu has decreased by the same margin. This is similar to the All India Level demographic trend where Hindus saw a 0.6-0.7% points drop in their proportion.
1
@AmalTan If that were the case then the proportion of Muslims should have increased steadily however it is the SAME since last 70 years (68-70%)
1
@AmalTan Hindus might "lose" majority tag but they'll always be the largest group. Also the growth rate of Muslims in Kerala as per last census was 12% and that of Hindus was 2.5%. Now trend suggests that by 2021 (10 years later) the growth rate of Hindus will almost be 0. That of Muslims will be around 7-9% (as it is decreasing by 3-5 pp every decade). Hence by 2031/41 even Muslims will have Growth rate close to 0. Thus the population of Kerala will stabilize
