  12. I leave my Pit unsupervised with my 8 year old son and 10 y/o daughter regularly. Pit Bulls are highly social and gentle breeds I'd socialized as such and not treated as a weapon or guard dog. It's natural protective instinct is strong enough. When I hear such rubbish by a dog owner who projects his own hierarchical inadequacies on his pet for dominance diplalays and self-esteem.
