@boghopper5463 "A study by researchers at the University of Oxford has found that the risk of developing rare blood clots is eight to 10 times higher in people with COVID-19 than in those who have been vaccinated.
The study of more than 500,000 infected people in the United States calculated that the blood clots, known as cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, occurred in 39 out of one million patients with COVID-19. That compares with five in one million for people who received the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine and four in one million for those who got the Pfizer-BioNTech shot."
From The Globe and Mail April 14, 2021
On Tuesday morning, U.S. federal health regulators recommended a pause in the use of Johnson & Johnson’s Covid-19 vaccine while they investigated six reports of blood clots in women ages 18 to 48. One has died, and a second is hospitalized in critical condition.
On Wednesday, two more cases were added to the list: a seventh woman who received the vaccine after it was authorized, and a man who received it during a clinical trial.
Seven of the eight had blood clots in the brain.
As of Thursday, 7.4 million people in the United States had received the vaccine without any other serious adverse reactions reported."
