"Most mothers now work outside the home — the first good reason Canada needs a national childcare program. Since the Royal Commission’s report, mothers’ labour-force participation has more than doubled. Young mothers work to contribute to family income, to keep their families out of poverty and to pursue careers — just like young fathers. As the Vanier Institute of the Family notes: “Most women and men expect to have jobs and careers. [Given] the high cost of living, most families require two earners to achieve an average standard of living.” From the National Post.

"The OECD forecasts that Canada's economy will grow by 3.5% in 2021 and perform better than the United States, which is expected to see a 3.2% growth next year. However, despite the positive recovery signals, the fallout from the Covid-19 crisis has negatively impacted Canada's fiscal balance and employment figures."

Pastor James Coates You are in a position of authority with your flock. As such, you should be using your pulpit to provide accurate information to your people. While there has been an overreaction on both sides of the issue in terms of response, it is undeniable that the virus is real, the health measures have helped, and the safe and effective vaccines going to halt the pandemic.

"Canada Ranks No. 1 in 2021 U.S. News Best Countries Ranking,” the online magazine trumpeted on April 13. In normal times, most Canadians accept this as recognition of our general agreement on tolerance, social harmony, health care and more. But now we pound relentlessly at politicians, partisan opponents and even health authorities. The national self-image of Canada as a first-rate nation is stressed and frayed. We’re doing it to ourselves. When I raised the No. 1 ranking with a few people Friday, the general reaction wasn’t so much pride as surprise. “You sort of have to remind yourself that you’re awfully lucky to be in Canada, to be a Canadian,” says Marc Henry of the polling firm ThinkHQ.

You are correct that Americans are uninformed about Canada. We know more about Americans than they know about us.
