@chrisministerofsmartarsery3322 I am not comparing vaccines. I am pointing out the flaw in logic with respect to risk/benefit analysis. I get that antivaxxers don't appreciate logic. You should apply the same logic to the odds of an adverse vaccine reaction vs. the odds of dying from COVID-19 when arguing against vaccination. The risk of developing rare blood clots is eight to 10 times higher in people with Covid 19 than in those who have been vaccinated.

That is not the standard we apply to other communicable diseases such as measles. Babies under 12 months can't be vaccinated so depend on everyone else to be vaccinated against measles and all the other communicable diseases we have vaccines for. Whenever measles vaccination uptake is low, measles bounces back. Most kids don't die from measles but some do. About 1 in 4 individuals will be hospitalized and 1–2 in 1000 will die. Complications are more likely in children under age 5 and adults over age 20. Pneumonia is the most common fatal complication of measles infection and accounts for 56-86% of measles-related deaths. SSPE occurs as a late, fatal measles complication in one out of 1,367 cases of measles in children younger than five. One out of 1,000 children with measles gets infection of the brain (encephalitis) early in the course of measles. About 15% of children with measles encephalitis die.
