I love the analogy. But in truth we all had to work our asses off to fulfill all the written conditions to be able to join the EU. And it helped us kill a lot of corruption, make better laws, forced our politicians to have balanced budget (never ever would they do it without EU forcing them), fight against organized crime (we have almost none except our politicians :D ). These countries were given exactly the same conditions for entry. When they fulfill them, they will become members of EU. It's up to them. Everyone suddenly expects to be exempt from the rules, but without the EU would break apart from inside (systems would be incompatible).
