@apolloniuspergus9295 Marx primarily was an economist. Capitalism had dire side effects, like producing a sub poverty layer. On the surface, with mechanised production and technical advances, this should not happen. Most of Marx' work was studying Capitalism - he lauded Capitalism's positives in the Communist Manifesto. Many recognised and tried to understand the problems and how to rectify them. Although highlighting the problems, Marx never came up with a solution, his solution was to to get rid of it. Men like American economist Henry George saw the problems but came up a workable solution - although George based his on Ricardo, JJ Mills and Adam Smith. BTW, Capitalists have conflated the free market with Capitalism, as if you cannot have one without the other.
