@Monelinius russians invaded Ukraine in 2014... since then, it's 9 years of non-stop ditch digging. They STILL haven't taken Marinka or Avdiivka, which are on frontline since like 2015. It's just entire region turned into giant trench system. With Starlink internet and even PlayStation in some of them!

Watch Warlords aka The Blood Brothers! It focuses on attacking army starving during siege and kinda explains (doesn't excuse, just shows the perpetrator's reasoning) why massacres were so brutal.

It's because of the inherent corruption in their government system, the orcs are severely underfunded as the general built a mansion instead of buying armor plates and they have to crowdfund the thermal vision systems and stuff... and tanks had their optics sold away too... oh wait, different mordor.
