  1. derbigpr500 Blah blah, Mechanical Engineer here too. ;) Civic Type "R" -- R stands for Racing, it's *supposed* to a be a track car you can buy from a dealership -- a simple watch of the heritage of Type Rs on Best Motoring will tell you all need to know about this. On the other hand, "M" is supposed to stand for Motorsport yet it doesn't and isn't -- BMW fans need to wait for a CSL edition to get the proper real deal track ready car from the dealership... The Audi and BMW are more luxury cars, which is fine, but they carry those "M" and "RS" that make people assume they are track cars, when they really aren't, they're just fast fairly sporty luxury road cars...

  2. DaveClass47 Yup, M cars a class above --- they are too luxurious and boring... it's very capable but there's no excitement unless you are doing some outrageous illegal speeeds. Type R for me, I like a car that's fun and silly *all the time* including at road legal speeds. :)
