  1. Re: Iowa straddling but failing to hit Nowaki, that was during Operation Hailstone, the only time the Iowas fired at enemy vessels. It was also a pointless surface action-Spruance intentionally called off the last American carrier attacks just so the Iowas could take out two destroyers and a damaged training ship and say they were useful. Had it not been for that, the Japanese units would have been sunk much more efficiently and Nowaki probably wouldn’t have escaped.

  2. KGV also has superior armour. As for long range, define “long range”, because battleship guns become increasingly inaccurate as you get further from the target and are hilariously inaccurate at 30,000 yards, even with the best fire control
