  1. That would go horribly for the Germans, seeing as it’s two cruisers vs. a battleship at night in a blizzard. The only problem the British really have is that Anson is massively overkill for those two.

  2. Japan actually suffered relatively few pilot losses at Midway; see Shattered Sword. Most of the pilots were picked up out of the water and reassigned to other frontline units.
