"Capitalism not the problem" I love how he said this after his wife just said in the 80's AT&T had to be broken up. If we need to keep breaking up companies because they get to big, than how is the conclusion that capitalism isn't bad? Its what lead to these monopolies that need to be broken up over and over and over again.

@berg8970 How are you going to force corporations to give back to society in a system controlled by the corporations?

@greygambit4013 How has everything else we have seen fail outright? And how can you claim capitalism hasn't failed. It completely failed during the great depression and was saved with public money. We saw it completely fail during the pandemic and was saved by trillions of dollars of public money. We see minor to major failures of capitalism on average every 4-7 years and it's always saved by public money. How can a system that claims to be all about the free market not work without being saved by the public? Then it has failed to give everyone a good living standard. There are countless peoples living in the capitalist third world that would have been better off under the stateless societies that has their complex forms of communal ownership violently stolen from them by the capitalists.

@berg8970 The answer to capitalism is its abolishing. Capitalism was born out of the Western European empires leaving their tiny sphere and violently conquering the world through enclosure, colonialism, and imperialism. We can not constrain a system where violence is the only way it has spread, and violence is the only way it's maintained.

@Scott-fy7fm Private Property regimes, or capitalism, was literally created by governments. Capitalism has always been about governments creating the winners and losers. What's funny is that the word capitalism was coined by a socialist to describe the economic system they were living in. Then, the capitalists co-opted the word and changed its definition to what you say it is. This change is literal propaganda. Capitalism Capitalism is a socio-economic system based on private property ownership of the means of production and the exploitation of the labor force. Capitalism has nothing to do with free markets, and capitalism can not function without a large government. The massive number of scams in the deregulated crypto market clearly proves that.

@berg8970 How do these taxes stop corporations from becoming to powerful? I'm not sure what public infrastructure has to do with breaking up corporations.

@berg8970 If you want equal opportunity, you're going to need to do away with capitalism. Capitalism by design is not meant to have equal opportunity. Why are you so convinced that an economic system that's less than 600 years old and has caused more death and poverty than anything else is the right way to go? Taxes were once high in USA, and there certainly was more regulation and citizens united didn't exist and we sdidnt have balance or equal opportunity then.
