If you disagree with him on this issue you’re basically disagreeing with his entire investment philosophy - not just one issue 😂 As for ignoring information - the reason for choosing index funds over individual stocks is because of the available information on this very issue. There is no quality empirical data I’m aware of that would support picking stocks over being in a broadly diversified index fund.

@ilq00477able i agree that is a good video , pleas don’t mistake me saying you are ‘basically disagreeing with his entire investment philosophy’ as meaning that I think you must disagree with everything he has ever said. But come on , disagreeing with Ben on the benefits of index funds and diversification is a little like disagreeing with Greta Thundberg on climate change. It’s kind of his thing! The decision to rent vs buy is not purely an investment decision to begin with and thus falls outside the scope of what I’m suggesting. If you were forced ,gun to your head , to invest in property though - I’m sure ben would advise doing so only holding them at market weights within a total market fund. He suggests this in his video on Reits. Surely if you’ve watched most of his videos you must see the humour in your initial post when you describe this as the only issue you’ve disagreed with him on ‘so far’. That’s quite an important and significant issue to disagree with him on -😂
