  7.  @fluttercoat3899  i know i was just trying to say it wasn't all roses and sunshine. the 50s guys didn't just sit around and do nothing. they handled reparis of the house. they kept the garden yard immaculate. they washed the car made sure it was presentable at all time. if needed like i said if the wife had to work. they had to clean and vaccuumm too do the laundry everything.

  8. from what i read there were 1950s wives that had to work too so the husband would come home and see meal on the kitchen counter they would need to reheat their food themselves.

  9. i've heard this from old timers that the real will always take precedence over the fake. what i mean is that trade/skills/jobs that deal with construction/material resource extraction, agriculture, and manufacturing will always have a place in this world in some form or shape. the fake (white collar world) where you're dealing with imaginary numbers and paper work admin that can only exist on the backs of the real (the trades)

  15.  @GeorgeOrwell-yz6zx  people don't really look at the economic factors. they can support something or dismantle something right now the economic factors are not in favor of men getting married. haven't been for decades. everything revolves around economics how much money you make to how much purchasing pwoer you have with your money to how much of a raise you get year by year to infaltion to incurring debt etc. also with women going to the same schools gettign the same education making the same money getting the same jobs etc. at the same time they have better legislative representation, better legal protection, better financial opporutnities etc. i'll just say the ones that are married congrats to them they beat the odds and they're the sane ones. to every one else there was something along the way that knocked you off that path.

  16. back in teh 50s. a car cost about 6 months salary... going by that metric a car today can not cost more than $20,000.00 USD

  36. i am curious to the future of america when america's gdp steadily drops. when we do become not the richest country in the world. i mean i'd be surprised by the end of the century if we're still even the top 10. with our average income per capita dropping. i wonder where they'll get their tax money then.
