  1. the silent generation as a cohort are gone. 1927-1940? 1940 a person would be 83 now... usually as a generational cohort you cut it off at 80.

  3. it's not just that they had more time over their careers to make money but even in a certain cut off comparison say at age 30 for all cohorts. past generations did better than current generations even if we cut it off at 30...

  5. give me a house from teh 1970s @ 1970s prices... i will take it. you may be too highfalutin for basic houses but that's the one thing we need more of basic housing for the basic people. none of us asked for fancy gadgets or fancy electronics. if there demand for it... it's not worker joe asking for it. i just want a roof ver my head that i can afford.

  6. because even if you move to the boonies in the usa you are still in the usa wheer even the boonies cost of living is higher than overseas. also if you move overseas you are making a clean break from the us. it's basically a all in strategy

  9. we lose 50% of our purchasing power every 35 years. so technically by the time the parents pass on the kids are already in their 50s-60s + your $ 1million dollars has less than 500,000k purchasing power in the future thats assuming that purchasign power is being lost as a linear rate and not a geometric rate.

  12. many people forget that after world war 2 the us had no economic competitors. everyone was bombed to the stone age. the us was the only one that was untouched and all that it did was buy us 25 years because by 1970 japan and germany were already encroaching on the us economic dominance.

  13. making everything too expensive and inflating everything is a the recipe of disaster for any empire. all empires in the past died because they over printed that was a major contributor... so if the us wants to die... than it's following the same plan.
