@AFGuidesHD Cuba doesn't need those to maintain its independence. China is more likely to acquire Taiwan without firing a shot much like the US role in Canada. Taiwan businessmen already have interests in China. If Taiwan were to change its official name that would be an indication of it seeking to be seen as nationally independent. As long as it claims to be the true government of China its claim of independence as a seperate nation seems to be bogus. After the civil war the United States considered taking over Canada. Proposals to admit what were provinces of the British Empire did not gain popular support within them. While the British set up the Dominion of Canada for home rule. .

@pp-bb6jj He continued a war he promised to end. The overspending on war would set in motion the end of the gold standard and the Bretton Woods currency exchange agreements.

@theodorejay1046 It was just the beginning of tearing away of fake face of Bourgeois Democracy. Nixon had used the methods of a dictatorship to win reelection. Both parties used the FBI to compile lists of political enemies and like Senator McCarthy of the 1950's he went to far with his thinking that the Democrats had been taken over by communists. Using the CIA as spies who broke into the offices of the loyal opposition in the Democratic Party was too much. That kind of activity was suppose to be limited to Blacks, communists, socialists and labor by J Edgar Hoover's FBI. This enabled us to launch legal campaign for political rights in Socialist Workers Party vs Attorney General.

@chrisenglish4380 His mistake was to continue the Vietnam war when the US had been clearly defeated. His exposed himself and party as bullies out for themselves no different than the hypocritical Johnson administration. Nixon began his 1968 campaign as the peace candidate. He left office in disgrace when Senator Rockefeller R(of Standard Oil) told him he did not have the votes in the Senate to avoid impeachment. His removal was basically a bipartisan two party decision. Ford who had been Speaker of the House became VP when Agnew was forced out with corruption charges. Now Ford would become the first unelected President since Washington.
