All one has to do is read either Wage Labor and Capital or Value Price and Profit to see that Marx and Engels understand capitalism much more than idiots like Any Rand who wrote fantasy novels. Das Kapital is about how capitalism will develop.

@freesk8 You don't get to socialism using the dull tools and methods of capitalism. You take things out of the market and use the working peoples own organization to solve our problems. Fidel Castro never had a problem producing enough educated people despite the relative poverty and backwardness. Von Misses proves nothing. He like other bourgeois economist is a simpleton to wants to reduce everything to the problem of money. The problem in the Soviet Union was the rise of a counter revolutionary bureaucratic caste that came from both the relative backwardness and the early defeat of the German Revolution that was made possible by the reformist Social Democrats. Stalin was the leader of counter revolutionary defeats starting with China in 1928 Germany in 1933 and France and Spain in 1939. After the war he tried but failed to keep up his class collaborationist course trying to keep his promises to Churchill in Yugoslavia and Greece and Truman in Korea. The year of his death 1953 also market a turning point shift in the world class struggle. Fidel Castro began the Cuban revolution, The Rosenberg's were executed. The Korea war went cold and the workers in the German Soviet Zone went on strike. The two main contradictions of capitalist development remain. Greedy ruling classes divided by nation state fight for profits in the world market with trade war leading to real war and the long term tendency of profit rates to decline as machines replace labor. The first results in endless wars the second provokes trade union struggle on a national level. The problem for capitalism is the ruling classes become too small to control the means of production not that the means of production are too complicated for the working class too control. You can see that in the United States that capitalism got rid of training in the occupations of skilled labor from the public school system because the capitalist don't need educated workers but order takers. Their is a whole ten percent of the population engaged in regulating capitalism for the big capitalist trying to keep it from getting out of control.
