@gabrielferrer3205 Cuba was the first to build sugar harvesting machinery to replace the back breaking harvesting by hand welded machete.

@orign4l No your problem is Socialism.

@troythedeconstructionist1382 Ignorance disguised in the clothing of the French Petit bourgeois intellectual.
39
@troythedeconstructionist1382 Like Postmodernism Deconstructionism is another case of the Poverty of modern capitalist Philosophy. Since you've already decided you better and special beyond the level of everyone else you need not make any kind of argument. You are King of Troy because you say so.

@gabrielferrer3205 Its up to Venezuela to seek assistance from Iran if they desire such oil refining assistance from Iran not Cuba. I don't think the problems in Venezuela revolve around oil refining assistance anyway.
32
@RandomPerson-lk6cb Like is terrific in South Korea which is why the population is in decline as well as the US if it were not for immigration.
24
@neonlight1214 The US had NO diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union until the FDR regime. The US Gov't cares less about Human Rights it's just something that became useful for Imperialist propagandas use in the class struggle. The British and French declared war on Germany upon realising Hitler intended to invade them and not the Soviet Union first. Once Germany invaded the Soviet Union they had no choice but to go to war with Germany.

@@apsoypike1956 Stalin does NOT represent the leadership continuity of Marx and Lenin. Leon Trotsky did and if Trotsky's ideas aren't enough for you than Fidel Castro came along and showed that revolution was possible, necessary and all the crazy and criminal things that both the Stalin and Mao leadership did completely unnecessary. They never had book bans in Cuba, or executions for simple political disagreement. East Germany had a privileged caste loyal to Moscow who could only retain power and privileges by police state methods. They weren't capitalists because they didn't own private property. They however granted themselves "incentives". And rather than seeing incentives as a temporary evil necessary do to the backwardness of Russia when the NEP was adopted it became the bureaucrats way of solving all problems. Still the bureaucrats needed to be fighting bureaucracy and its was necessary to sacrifice the worst to save the bureaucrats as privledged caste within the working class. Like Social Democrats who have put off Socialism in favor of capitalist privileges the Stalinists sought accommodation and peaceful coexistence with Imperialism. "Communists" (tankies) were suppose to defend the Soviet motherland (the bureaucracy) no matter how stupid or how rotten the policy of Moscow was. It lead to the absurdities of leaders of the American Communist Party supporting the Smith "gag" Act prosecutions of the Trotskyists in 1940 only to see themselves prosecuted under the same law after "The Great Patriotic War and permanent victory of the Soviet Union." The little Stalins of the CPUSA though they would be shaking the hands of the monopolists not doing 5 year stretches in the federal penitentiary.

@paksta If its working so well why are people in the advanced capitalist world reproducing at a rate BELOW population replacement? Capitalist miracle countries like South Korea , Japan and China don't have sources of immigration to replace the population like the Western Capitalist countries who would also have aging populations without immigration. Is it "Poverty eradication" or "Population eradication"?
12
@oLii96x Capitalism grew out of feudalism which had its own ideological justification for the class rule of Kings and Queens of the land. When the federalist became obstacles to capitalist development they were driven from power in a most revolutionary way across Europe and America. The capitalist have created a new class of people the wage laborers and we have our own class interest just as the capitalist merchants did during feudalism. The capitalist have also created their own ideological justification for their system. Just as feudal society reached a dead end so too has capitalism by it own internal logic. It was Adam Smith and Ricardo who first wrote on political economy but it was Marx who furthered the analysis of capitalism. The origin of the profit from the workers sale of his labor power. The drive by the capitalist to pay the lowest wages and work us the longest hours. The inevitable decline in the rate of profit as capital replaces labor in giant industry drives the class struggle between labor and capital. Imperialism is the highest stage of capitalism. The capitalist origin is in nation states while they compete in a world market. Capitalism develops both in uneven and combined ways which has made American Imperialism the top dog following the second Imperialist war. While American Imperialism set the rules in its interests post world war two it is in decline as both China and Europe are its market competition. A competitions whose inevitable logic leads to world war while the working class has no interest in the bosses profits system of exploitation. Capitalism is already failing in the advanced capitalist countries as can be seen by the falling birth rates among women who the economic system of capitalism has ignored instead prefer to pay wages just enough to get a worker to return for another pay period but without the social stability to produce a new generation. Even the capitalist themselves ae beginning to question the viability of a system which has stopped producing enough children to replace those who will inevitable pass on.
12
@MickeyMouse-lm6zj To be a Marxist is to understand change and history as being driven by the class struggle. When America was founded it was a beacon of freedom when compared to the rest of the world chaffing under feudalism especially the European Empires. The Monroe doctrine was an Anti European Imperialist doctrine for the Western Hemisphere. Early capitalism was a new and revolutionary system despite all its faults which are much more clearly seen today. The civil war and reconstruction period that followed abolished slavery. When reconstruction ended and Segregation was imposed was when American capitalism began its change into monopoly capitalism and Imperialism. The twentieth Century has saw the rise of the industrial trade unions in the labor movement and the destruction of Jim Crow racism by a black proletarian lead movemnet as part of the anti colonial struggle.

@giovincomaz2175 The Soviet Union and China did not end in genocide or starvation either. Popular revolutions over though the Stalinist Regimes almost bloodlessly only Yugoslavia underwent a severe war. The return to capitalism in the old Soviet Russian Republic was accompanied by shock therapy that was recommended by Liberal capitalist economist Milton Friedman and Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton also ordered the bombing of Yugoslavia. Hardly a recommendation for capitalism since in reality the dream of a military marching into Soviet Union and re establish capitalism as Hitler tried to do never occurred. That was the true goal of the cold war a hot war to destroy the Soviet Union all the workers states and re establish capitalism by force of arms.

@@apsoypike1956 The Cuban revolution is merely a small example of what a real communist leadership can accomplish. They have abolished private property in Cuba. Your a property owner which why you believe you need compensation. The 26th of July movement lead the revolution but it was a revolution supported by those who wore the shirts of the ordinary workers and peasants not the wealthy property owners. Lenin and Trotsky lead the bolshevik party but it was the workers and peasants organized into Soviets that made the actual revolution. I assume you are referring to the Red Guards who arrested the provisional government who were negotiating with Kornilov for a continuation of capitalist rule. If we have to arrest you also So be it. .
10
@puppet_master115 We don't rely on the capitalist acknowledging anything. Itstead we rely upon being able to organize and explain to the working people why they need to take control of industry and the land into their hands such that the industry and farmland is used to provide the means of life to the overwhelming majority of people instead of for private profits.

Basically the reason this guy goes after Orwell is because he told the truth about the Stalinist betrayal of the Spanish revolution "Homage to Catalonia". Stalin of course also entered into a non aggression pact with Hitler. Seems that Hakim forgets about that.
6
@giovincomaz2175 Adopting Stalinism and adopting revolutionary Marxist Leninism are two different ideologies. If its ideologies you want to debate than you need to start with the 1928 The Draft Program of the Communist International: A Criticism of Fundamentals by Leon Trotsky.

@paksta Something is obviously wrong with countries where women do not have enough children to replace the current population. South Korea, Japan and even China have this problem now. The United States and Western Europe would also have the problem were it not for immigration. Like I said it's due to a world wide decline in capitalist world trade and production. The bosses no longer want to pay the cost of reproduction of the working class. Social Democracy is failing because capitalism can no longer afford to buy off a few workers in the Imperialist nations with privileges. You don't seem to understand that it's not about having smaller families but no families at all. Every women needs to reproduce 2+ children on average for the population to remain stable. The fertility rate for women in the advanced capitalist countries has dropped below 2 children on average.
6
@giovincomaz2175 Those people dying didn't mark the end of Communism in either the Soviet Union or China though did it? The end of WW2 resulted in the defeat of Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo though didn't it. The cold war was mostly a war of words rather than a true world war. That is why it was called the cold war. It was marked by a US policy of containment of Communism which had threatened the Western Imperialist Empires starting with The Russian Revolution, the founding of the new communist parties and the 1920 Congress of the Peoples of the East. The US sought to take the place of the European Empires post World War 2 with its new world Institutions like the UN, IMF, World Bank and Bretton Woods conference.

@@apsoypike1956 True the wage labor system is much more productive than the slave labor system but the pursuit of profit by the capitalist and the old slave and land owners of the South eventually came back together against the interests of labor with segregation and the defeat of radical reconstruction. Capitalism with its pursuit of profits seek to pay the workers only that which is needed for the workers to socially reproduce their labor power. The problem has now become that women in the modern industrial world aren't reproducing at a rate to sustain the population. Workers are putting off family formation because of low wages and capitalist insecurity. Women have access to modern methods of birth control and medical abortion don't want the responsibility of two or three children of their own. This is a world wide phenomenon. Without immigration the United States would have a declining population.

@greenleafyman1028 The question isn't can capitalism be saved but how to go about replacing it. You want to follow Professor Reich into the swamp of capitalist reformism thats is your choice not that of those who have a revolutionary perspective.

@NewWorld-fu4qw What do I need a stupid passport for?

@BenjaminWalburn Authoritarian Leader? What does that even mean because the word originates from author someone who writes so an authority is essentially a book writer an intellectual author of a subject. That makes an authoritarian leader an expert. So if you think Stalin was an expert on leadership well then your handing him a compliment even though the word has come to have a negative connotation. Stalin was infallible leader so he had no choice but to call everyone else wrong. Gorbachev authored great praise of the leader Stalin which is why he initially got promoted. Once Stalin died their was no one else with the same authority since Stalin had almost all of the other important leaders of the revolution executed if the didn't die of natural causes. Khrushchev gained authority by denouncing the worst excesses of the Stalin Era which he himself had been at best a silent partner too.
3
@Darthdog4957 His pen name was Lenin. The Soviet Union went though 3 periods War Communism, the New Economic Policy, Lenin died during the New Economic Policy and the last period used Economic Planning with 5 year plans beginning in 1928. . (one was a 7 year plan)

@navyrotc2012 So the Danish have "Honest Capitalist" who tell you up front that they are screwing you.
3
@waspwrap1235 What happened in 1953? Stalin died. East German workers went on strike, Fidel Castro attacked the Moncada Barracks and the Rosenbergs were executed.
2
@TheRealLesterGreen If that was true it would lead to the impossibility contradiction coming from the rising accumulation of overall social wealth seen in capitalism during times of relative peace and prosperity. Without the workers producing surplus value their would be no accounting for the profit and differences in profitability between firms, nations, industries, and time. It would imply a fixed pie with a zero sum total for economics. In fact labor has two values which make it the special component in commodity production. One value is that which is needed by the laborer on average to socially reproduce himself for the next pay period. The other is the value that at which his labor power is sold as the product of that labor which was done at the bargain of an average social value of reproducing his ability to work. He works only so long as he can make his employer a profit and he comes back to work only so long as he can reproduce his labor. Whittier he is paid by the piece or by the hour his employer seeks to get from him the longest hours, at the lowest wages, at the fastest pace of production.

@ab6789 Those who carried out the orders of Stalin are long dead. Those who fought against Stalin from the very beginning have a whole history going back to 1928 that can be found in the pages of The Militant newspaper.

@troythedeconstructionist1382 Good for you!!! Would you also like a pat on the head?

@@apsoypike1956 Look at your capitalist high tech miracle and you see a population in decline. Half the human race is voting against its conditions of life under advanced capitalism by not having children.

@waspwrap1235 The Rosenbergs were the only American Communists officially executed by the United States. They were falsely accused of giving Stalin the secret of the Atom bomb and being indirectly responsible for the Death of American soldiers in Korea.

@analizbar Mao discredits himself with " New Democracy" and Stalin with his purges and murder of all opposition creating a shell of a Party made up of followers of an infallible leader Joe Stalin.
1
@alejandrahauca7657 The population is in decline because of the natural workings of capitalism. Stalin prepared the way for the return of capitalism by murdering Lenin's party.
1
The success of neoliberalism is the result of betrayal of the Social Democratic and Stalinist leaderships and failure to lead a successful revolutionary fight against capitalism. Instead these leaders either directly cooperated with the ruling classes or sought detente and peaceful co existence with Imperialism. Only Fidel Castro and the Cuban revolution would continue down a socialist road.

Why would the capitalist do that?

@DausDaus1 A privately held corp is under no obligation to reveal its finances to the public.

@notarealAlbanian Stalin agreed to carve up Poland with Hitler and couldn't believe that Hitler would break his word and invade. After the ultra left policy were Social Democrats were social fascists he swung wildly right with the antifascists' popular front with bourgeois liberals. The American CP became the best strikebreakers for Democratic Imperialism durring the war. With the end of the war the Democratic Imperialist quickly turned on the CP strikebreakers sending them to prison. Stalin basically was a class collaborationist selling out the working class in other countries with the hope that the Democratic Imperialist would allow peaceful co existence.

@MickyD2025 Marxist theory is about the of social forces and class in society. Stalin and Trotsky came to represent contending forces after the revolution and the period that followed one a conservative one lead by Stalin that was tired of the revolutionary perspective of Lenin and other Bolshevik leaders. and Trotsky who wanted to continue the communist course and perspective of Marx and Lenin of world revolution. Bukharin wrote and Stalin signed on to the theory of building socialism in one country. Stalin was a bureaucrat with a crude interpretation of Marx whose followers would end up seeking advice from Milton Freedman on how to remake the Soviet Economy. The cynical Friedman basically told them you need to turn everything into a giant tag sale and issue saleable share of industry to make the workers true owners and open the market to foreign goods and capitalist investment. Industries were shut down as the economy collapsed and the workers sold their shares to new capitalist oligarchs who imported cheap foreign goods and purchased state industries for a song and a dance. Afterwards the cynical Friedman said well its not a "real capitalism with "Democracy" but a crony capitalism.
1
@MickyD2025 Well we are further along than Das Kapital because we have the real experience of both the Russian and Cuban revolution. A number of books are published by Pathfinder Press. The Stalinists found themselves falsifying history spreading all kinds of vicious lies about any and all of their political opponents.
1
@Bredafromdejungule You seem to forget that when the Red army was at the Gates of Warsaw after the revolution that Stalin disobey orders to move his troops up. Stalin had to suppress his own pamphlet "On the National Question." Because it didn't fit with the Russification policy adopted along with Socialism in One country. He had whole nationalities labeled as criminals and traitors deported and sent off to the GULAG. Much like Mao and other Stalinist fools you think pollical power grows out of the barrel of a gun. We have to be beaten with a club in order to accept your idea of Socialism.
1
@giovincomaz2175 We aren't going down the road of a non Marxist socialism like where Hitler's National Socialism was real socialism or Pol Pot was real communism. Nor are we going to take the lies invented by the US Government and exiles about a genocide in Cuba for anything but made up propaganda. Pol Pot was supported and armed by Jimmy "Human Rights" Carter. Mao was an admitted follower of Stalin and although Tito came to dislike Stalin he too came from that tradition. Fidel Castro did not. So are you stil LoLing? The problem now is that the foolishness of any argument you make has to ignore actual ideology. One needs only read the communist manifesto to dismiss non Marxist socialism. Interesting that Marx saw German or True Socialism as reactionary before Adolf Hitler's birth.
1
@giovincomaz2175 The US Imperialist saw victory in Vietnam based upon body counts and kill ratios. Once defeated Jimmy "Human Rights" Carter began his Human Rights Campaign against the Soviet Union and Cuba supporting Pol Pot and urging China to invade Vietnam. Do you read in your American history books that Carter was a supporter of the Cambodian Genocide? That he and the UK supported Pol Pot at the UN and armed him though the Royal Dictatorship of Thailand? I bet you don't instead you think of Jimmy "Human Rights" Carter as a humanitarian who builds homes for the homeless..

@seekingabsolution1907 Look Stalin was able to get people to follow him and do what he wanted. You don't think he crushed dessent all on his own do you? As General Secretary that gave him the power to put in place people who were loyal to him. He had to be able to crush or neutralize all opposition in both the Party and in the Communist International. He knew what Trotsky was writing about him was true which is why the big slander campaign was necessary along with the murder of oppositionist and revolutionaries in Spain was necessary. He needed to present himself as the true disciple of a Christ like Lenin. He was training for the Orthodox Priesthood as a youth do you think he didn't understand how the Priests used the mythology of Christ to maintain their power over the Peasants? Why do you think he had Lenin's body embalmed and put on display? You let Stalin off to easy with this use of terminology like totalitarian and authoritarian because your using his kind of tactics which is to call people bad names as the way to dismiss them.
1
@troythedeconstructionist1382 Look anyone can read what you wrote in your Youtube channel and come to the conclusion that our full of yourself along with a lot of BS. The French intellectuals could never deal with their own betrayal of socialism so they had to come up with a whole bunch of excuses for the twin failures of Social Democracy and Stalinism.
1
@troythedeconstructionist1382 It's obviously a reminder of the Russian Oct. Revolution of 1917 and the worldwide significance of that event. There are those who do not forget that it was the Russian Bolsheviks who first called for a peace with no annexations. That Lenin lead the anti war faction in the Second "Socialist" International and that Eugene Debs agreed with him. Debs was thrown in prison by the former anti war candidate of the Democratic Party Wilson. Debs received a million votes for President. Leon Trotsky lead the Red Army against the CZARist counterrevolution and 14 Imperialist Armies including the US/UK. American John Reed who wrote "Ten Days that Shook the World" recommended by Lenin and later suppressed by Stalin was buried in a place of honor at the Kremlin wall.
1
@danielcreatd872 Democratic Institutions are capitalist institutions. The working class needs its own political party a labor party. We need to realize and place no confidence in Democratic Institutions founded by the bosses. Destroying all confidence in the bosses regulatory agencies is a necessary part of workers taking political power.
1
@@apsoypike1956 Did world war two produce a "Net Profit?" Obviously it left American Imperialism as top dog but it also destroyed a large part of the Industrial world. Slavery as a system is inferior to wage labor. With slavery you own the slave and must keep him at work in addition to keeping him alive. With wage labor and capital the capitalist buy the labor power of the worker for a particular time. The capitalist pays the worker to reproduce his labor but the workers labor power creates more value then he consumes to reproduce his labor for the capitalist. If the worker becomes ill, misbehaves, is incompetent, or dies the capitalist hires another worker. The worker must sell his labor to survive. He is free to sell his labor to the capitalist and must spend his wage to survive. The slave owner must buy another slave from another slave owner. Slavery only works well in an agricultural society because then the slave works both the land for his survival and for his masters profit. Once you begin to develop large cities it becomes to easy for the slave to run away. That is why Africans exclusively became slaves because they could not run away from their skin color.
1
@tomblaise The capitalist mode of production is superior to the feudal and slave societies. Capitalism has within it its own contradictions which Marx pointed to in Das Kapital and Lenin in Imperialism the highest stage of capitalism. The problems that would bring about the end of Soviet Union began with the death of Lenin and the rise of Stalin. It would be until 1959 that another revolution would show the world that Stalin's methods and theories were completely wrong.
1
@wssltekliuk8119 Lenin saw what was wrong with the Social Democratic leadership and Trotsky saw what was wrong with the Stalinist leadership. Fidel Castro created a new communist movement that still holds state power in Cuba and continues its revolutionary internationalist course. Unlike the Soviets and Chinese the Cubans have NOT gone back to dog eat dog capitalism of the United States. In fact they are holding out against an Imperialist monster that seeks to destroy them only 90 miles away.
1
@troythedeconstructionist1382 Because that is a BIG LIE being told by the United States Gov't. No one is in a Cuban jail or prison for simple political disagreement. If your in prison or Jail in Cuba you'd be in jail or prison in the United States for doing the same thing. The only exception being the US Torture and Military prison base at Guantanamo Bay.
1
@@apsoypike1956 Your talking nonsense. You want to be compensated for the collective cost of other people's property??? When slavery was abolished it meant you could no longer own people. Before it was abolished in sme instances slaves bought or had their freedom bought but overall the practice itself was abolished without compensation to the slave holder. When private property is abolished it means you can no longer use the ownership of property to exploit others nor can you pass private property to others. The creation of wealth by capitalism made the slave system obsolete. The private property wage labor system is already being replaced as social wages for those unable to work has been established. Its a matter of taking the power of the capitalist ability to wage war and doing other stupid things to advance the profit system which has entered into world wide decline. There is a tremendous amount of waste within the capitalist system and as that becomes apparent then you will see an end to private property one way or another. .
