@subhendu7221 They call him a treasure because they believe he is a unusual find among the masses of black workers and farmers someone who claimed to be a Marxist who then saw the light of Bourgeois righteousness. The basic problem is his whole understanding of Marxism is based upon books and his initial refusal to interact with other Marxist when he claimed he was. Marx made it clear that communism is a movement not a new doctrine of universal reform. The ideas of Marxism are based upon conclusions drawn from the history of the modern class struggle. That history is one of victory and defeats between the two most important class the capitalist and the proletariat. The role the Communist play is to support the fights for the immediate needs of the proletariat while always pointing the forward to the ultimate victory in the struggle.

As far as Vietnam goes I don't know what they do their except that Ho Chi Minh sided with Stalin but he was sent to China during the war of liberation. @dutArkham Sowell is a glorifier of markets and denies that the profit is the result of exploitation of the working class. He talks of markets distributing scarce resources without ever explaining which resources are scarce which have alternative uses or what the different alternatives are in terms of use. He denies the labor and use theory of value in favor of the sloppy thinking of subjective value. He total ignores surplus value for the sloppy theory of profits as surplus. He tells you trade can be beneficial to both parties not a zero sum game with out telling you why its not zero sum when measured by exchange value just more of his sloppy thinking along with the bigger risk producing a bigger reward. Well I understand probability and gambling doesn't actual produce anything either. Their is of course a reason for this kind of sloppiness and that is his need to glorify capitalism. To hide the true relationships while pretending to explain them.

I survive off a Social Security check and live in a camp trailer. He gets a big pay from Stanford travels the world enjoying the good life with his Jet set friends. He thinks others are jealous of him because of hos success. After all who wouldn't want to fly around the world with a lot of vapid and boring intellectuals trained at Harvard and Yale.

You want to learn the basic economics of capitalism read Wage Labor and Capital or Value Price and Profit. His ideas come from those who wish to deny that a class struggle is taking place in favor of markets and people making micro decisions that are summed up like a calculus function to yield just the right answer. This of course is no different than the ideas of Black Bourgeois Professor at Harvard who sees racism as the summation of microaggressions. Most of his economic analysis from "facts" leaves out other things that are going on at the same time or facts that are inconvenient to his sweeping generalities.

Marx's ideas are based in the observation of capitalist development in the different nations of Europe along with the reports from English sea captains in the British Museum of far away lands and peoples. The reason why is the profit comes form the living labor in the production goes down while the congealed labor in the fixed capital rises. This one of the reasons that even if the capitalist could become an International class their system would still go into decline because for the capitalist to keep making profits he must both keep cutting overall labor time and skill to drive profits his way yet by doing so he cuts back on the very source of profits labor. This in itself along with the ever increasing crisis caused by the competition between ruling classes that leads to war is also why capitalism and capitalist methods like those used by the Stalinist in China tend to slow the continued advance of society because capitalism would require unlimited markets, labor and resources to continue forever. The world and its markets are only so big which is why capitalist methods can only take humanity so far.

When Karl Marx came to the conclusion he thought it needed more study or that the capitalist could resort to war to get around the problem. He wrote about the civil war in France where the Paris commune had been established and lasted for 70 days. Capitalism came onto the world covered in blood and oozing dirt from every pore why wouldn't societies still under the domination of the landowners go though a lot of violence. The British were in control of India right up till 1945 and the it became Democratic India. Now India had at least an extra 20 years as Democratic India 1949 to 1972. Yet it is still behind China. I suppose no one suffered because of European colonialism or because of Imperialism foreign investment. No one died in wars of mass death before Marx I suppose? Like it or not 1/3 of the world entered the industrial era under a leadership claiming to be communist. China obviously entered without help from the United States since the were completely excluded from trade for 20 years. You've tried to blockade Cuba for 60 years and they still have a communist leadership that never needed to launch purges. Only demoralized intellectuals and the United States ruling class want a return to capitalism in Cuba. They need to write this stuff because he influenced to many working class leaders. Like Eugene Debs whom the leaders of the AFL -CIO give themselves a Debs award. Sowell even needs to pose as a one time Marxist to make himself look like someone who saw the light. In fact his sole connection to Marxist by his own admission is through books and writings only despite his professor suggesting he do so for his theise. Instead he told his professors he did want to be influenced by others ideas on Marx. Its as if all the debates after Marx are totally irrelevant to Sowell. If Marx had not written what he did and people had not followed him then Sowell would have had no career making Marx into the origins of everything he finds wrong. When Sowell was a so called Marxist both Sowell and ultra right Republican Senator Joe McCarthy both claimed and believed that the US government was coming under Communist Control.

Nor is their any reason to believe more people would be alive if General Kornilov and the 14 Imperialism armies had won the Russian civil war or If Kennedy had successfully invaded Cuba and defeated Fidel Castro. Capitalism brought on the first world war all by itself. Britain and America made themselves into world capitalist powers by fighting wars and killing millions. Capitalism came into the world dripping in blood and ossining dirt from every pore. The AFL CIO represented 1/3 of all workers in the United States in 1954 at its founding. Look at the deaths caused by religious wars and don't forget the Taiping Rebellion. All the weapons of Mass and Industrial slaughter were developed and first used by the Capitalist world Everything from the rifle to the explosive, the machine gun, poison gas and the Nuclear weapon.
