US emptied villages into makeshift concentration camps. US land reform gave land to the landlord. US used chemical warfare with Agent Orange. US B-52 used carpet bombing , cluster bombing and napalm. Not a single heavy bomber was used by the patriotic forces. Big company's from Coca Cola to Dow Chemical got big contracts. At the wars end US promised to help Vietnam recover? Jimmy "Human Rights" Carter gave none. No help with the clean up of mines, cluster bombs, or the victims of war. Instead Carter moved on to supplying Pol Pot in Cambodia as a way to punish Vietnam.

  2.  @scallen3841  If we stopped selling the Saudi Arabia government police and military supplies they would have to deal with their own situation. The same goes for the rest of the middle east. Why should we play the referee?   6. NATO is left over from the cold war. Russia is now capitalist so the containing communism excuse is gone. The Europeans need to settle their own problems. Even Trump say we are spending money on them that they don't want to contribute.

  7.  @scallen3841  Lots of theses request for aid come from governments which we would not accept as democratic republics if they were US states. Most got aid because they put their hand on a bible and promised not to let communism take over. What I mean by aid is police and military supplies.

Instead they were committing war crimes and setting up concentration camps called strategic hamlets. Kennedy became unhappy with his elected puppet Diem so he had the ARVN overthrown and murder him in a Military coup. A man arrested on suspicion of being a VC was executed on TV by an ARVN General shooting him in the head. Every night the news was reported in kill ratio and total numbers killed. ABC, CBS and NBC are not communist news agencies dumbo.

  15.  JOHN B. RAMIREZ  At age 18 I had a high lotter draft number in 1970. So no real material reason to be anti war nor did I know anyone who was a communist before college. I could go further but last time I did that I was accused of "Stolen Valor" My political opinion changed with Kent State in May 1970. Maybe some people went to demonstrations because it was "cool" or their girlfriend wanted to but being an actual activist in college could only make things worse for you.

At best the only thing an internet provider can easily do is see the IP addresses you want to connect with. They know what your address is since you are buying their service and they are issuing your an IP address. Having a VPN connection means the provider can only see what your VPN address is and they already know your address. They can't actually break your encrypted messages without either a huge amount of luck, a huge amount of computer time or breaking into your or your message receivers computer.

  17.  JOHN B. RAMIREZ  I think the problem of implementing universal health care is not a bigger tax burden or resource problem but a lack of trained healthcare workers from doctors to nurses aids. If been incorrectly diagnosed as having a heart attack twice and eye surgery that was a failure. When a nurse practitioner recommended I have prostate biopsy I said, "no." When asked why I said, "I wasn't going to spend the rest of my life with a bag on my ankle."

"The wealthy and multinational corporations in this country will start paying their fair share of taxes. We are going to end austerity for working families, and provide some austerity for large, multinational corporations." From Burnie's webpage. Notice the word "fair". That's the key loophole word because it isn't defined. Rhetorically it sound good but who knows what it will actually mean. Sure Bunie goes on with more rhetoric but they are also good sounding but undefined. My tax would be based upon the income of highest paid tradesman anything above that level would be taxed at 100%. That would be at least more well defined. It takes a four year apprenticeship to be journeyman along with once a week of night school for theory.

Attorney General ended a long standing Secret Police investigation by the FBI. The fact that the Council of Europe is bablering about the past shows nothing but ignorance. What did the councils nations do when Franco was dictator in Spain, the Portugal dictatorship or the crimes of British and French Empires? The crimes of the Belgians in the Congo? When the councils states condemn their own national crimes then just maybe some will take them seriously.

  21.  @robertroselle5073  Like Korea it was a war to retain colonial control of Vietnam. The French had been defeated and the US Imperialist couldn't accept the loss. If it was a war against an ideology it would have been fought first with books and education. Instead victory was to be measured by kill ratios and total kills. The idea was if you could kill enough fighters than you could deplete the enemy's ability to train new fighters. Every night we saw the reported Kill ratio and number of dead enemies on network news TV. The end of the Vietnam war has also ended any unquestioning of latter wars launched by Washington including Iraq and Afghanistan..
