I have researched rooftop solar. By the time you pay off your panels, and the payments are based on your current power bills, and you finally get your cheap electricity bills, the warranty on your panels has expired.

Is there really a war in Ukraine or is it a psyop like covid?

As a teen I used to babysit for a Vietnam draft dodger and his wife. During that period he was limited in what work he could do and ofcourse they could not claim any social security payments. They used to tell me about it. They told me at first they used to be able to bread and biscuits out of the bins outside Coles. When Coles realised they and many others were doing so. They filled the bins with water to render the bread inedible. At the time I was also working for Coles part time, and we were told if we were taking boxes of chocolates etc out to the bin and succumbed to the temptation to eat even one we would face instant dismissal.

@peterburke8650 It should at least be marked down cheaper and cheaper until it is sold at a price anyone can afford. And nothing should be wasted. Surely it's better to get 10c for a loaf of bread than throw it away.

@wilowest3509 Well done, I'd do the same. Another trick is to bake your own bread.

@wilowest3509 Nearly every one burns wood where I live. Even the Greenies. You can bake bread in a fire heated fire box. We pay $140 per ute full of firewood, but we need to have heat 24/7 through winter.

@HMASBarbette I haven't found any with a warranty of more than ten. I was going to do it in Queensland where you could buy a battery and stand alone. But I've moved to a cold climate and that won't work here. You can only sell it on to the grid. And the grid doesn't pay much because you are trading one type of renewable for another type..

All well and good if we were still in democracies

OMG that's what we were paying decades ago. We pay far more than that per litre. I too have been shocked on YouTube videos of how cheap your supermarket goods are, though I'm skeptical of the quality. Most people here who have to commute to work do so in small four cylinder cars, and have done since the 1980s.

@mikeodonnell6799 Good luck on your midterms. I hear if the election goes well the big pharma corporation's and the politicians who profited will be brought to justice. This is vitally needed, not just for the US, but for the western world. Go Republicans.
