And for the 95% to pay for the 5% who do have them.

But that's the point, they want us to pay for Them having one.

So when they turn the grid off. The whole country comes to a halt. It's about control.

Cars manufactured after the 1960s won't run after an emp. I learnt that in the nuclear apocalypse movies of my childhood.

@paulveenings6861 We've got an early fifties car in the shed, a left over from the cold war lol

Australia is not Europe. Lots of people travel 100kms to get to work each day.

@John Hoyle The opposite is the cause of blackouts

@jonathanparle8429 I looked into rooftop solar and batteries about a decade. The warranty expires about the time your "free" electricity starts coming.

@justmissjamey Do you mean petroleum cars? Or actual gas cars? I have been listening to Peter Zeihan and he writes that globalisation has ended, which will leave some countries unable to import petroleum.

@justmissjamey I'm not playing ignorant. This is an Australian site. What Americans call gas we call petrol/petroleum. When we use the word gas we mean what fuels BBQ's. Cars can run on either depending on how they are manufactured. So defining the terms was important to make sense of what you were saying. My point about globalisation is that countries like the US are self sufficient for petrol, we are not. But we are for coal, uranium and natural gas. Therefore without global trade we would have to change fuel types.
