  1. Well said it's a point I often make, though I include men as well. Both men and women know sex can result in pregnancy. They should choose sexual partners they would be willing to raise a child with should the need arise. When I was young unplanned pregnancies resulted in marriage not abortion.

  2. Every time a man and woman have sex they both know a baby could result. They should be responsible about this and only have sex with people they would be prepared to have a long term relationship with and raise a child with. It's discusting that people murder their children instead of taking a minimum amount of responsibility for their actions. It's like driving drunk and being surprised you caused an accident.

  4. I have come to the decision that rape should not be an exception. It has been used as a slippery slope for women who are intent on abortion, many women are completely dishonerable on this issue. And secondly, the baby is blameless of any crime.

  5. @John Hoyle Actually It's totally different, the British had been confiscating American guns, and the right to bear arms was a slogan of the war of independence. The purpose of the constitution is to protect the people from their own government should it ever become tyrannical. So the second amendment is completely within the framework of the constitution. The Americans did not fight a war with Britain to get abortion rights.

  12.  @Tienhamir100  I'm in Australia where it is a state issue. My state has none, whilst three states have abortion up until birth. I'm not sure about Will, but John is also Australian, and he always makes comments contrary to most people in a thread. I think what is happening in the US is a tiny step closer to rights for babies. And I pray you are right that states will not all sustain the practice without federal funding. You are right that abortion is a feature of totalitarian regimes. Few of the people screeching bodily autonomy, when they actually mean autonomy to kill another body, had zero sympathy for people who wanted genuine bodily autonomy to refuse jabs.

  14. I do not consider those circumstances abortion. In my country they are not done in abortion clinics. The baby is referred to as a baby, it is wrapped in a blanket, and every effort is made to save the baby. Ultimately it's a matter of intent, in one case the intent is to kill the baby, in the other the intent is to save the mother.

  15.  @barbarahazelwood2186  I do not see it as a female issue, as the person most effected is the baby, which can be male or female and every baby has a mother and a father. The baby exists due to the actions of the parents. It's about time the adults involved wake up to the biological differences between men and women. Falling pregnant means a woman will carry a baby for nine months, but for a man it means paying child support for eighteen years. My point is that as late as the 1980s ( I live in Australia) there was huge pressure on young couples to marry. A young man who ran out on a pregnant girlfriend or a woman who aborted a baby, would both face years of social judgement, and face trouble in the future dating or finding a marriage partner, perhaps they would have to move to a different region. Abortion is not only an attack on babies and men and women. It is an attack on marriage. Its easy to see the role pregnancy had on marriage throughout the centuries by calculating the time between weddings and the birth of the first child. From the 1990s onwards these marriages have been mocked and demonised, however we can see historically they were largely successful.

  17. Every time men and women have sex they know they know it might result in pregnancy. If they would not be prepared to raise a child, don't engage in activities that cause pregnancy.
