It makes me wonder why they still come. It's no better than third world countries now.

And permanent residency when they finish their degree to sweeten it even more.

Time to sack another PM

All planned, that's why it happens everywhere.

@scottarmstrong666 Not since they called for domestic terrorism and the commenters pointed it out to them.

@infidel202 There was a time I would have agreed. I'm 7th + generation Australia and I have no other home. But really are we the best place? In the UK even nurses and doctors weren't mandated for example. We are now famous for being the most authoritative country in the Anglosphere. I live in a rural seaside town. And being small and rural we know the backstory and the feedback of every rural visa holder. I live next door to some workers from the Philippines. Yes their wages are higher but the cost of living is so high they're thinking of going home. Their was a Muslim woman who came to teach kindergarten. She didn't like it because all the churches are Christian, and the locals drink beer in the pub, and worst of all she has to speak English. Surely even a kindergarten teacher could have researched what life in rural Australia might be like ? And then there was the Chinese family who stayed here long enough. There was husband and wife and a daughter and a grandfather. The grandfather would get drunk in the pub sometimes and he'd tell us how much better off we'll be when the CCP is in control of Australia. But the working mum and dad have gone home to the CCP, and now it's just grandpa and a little girl. Hmm. Australia seems great when you live in a good city suburb I guess.

Seriously though, foreign tradespeople just don't always have the skills to build to our standards.

No they don't have the numbers.

@robertruggiero9999 What the government should do is take all the sugar off the table. The government, both major parties, are literally in the business of selling off the democracy of Australian voters. As per what both parties had agreed to with the UN in 1992. Another rort is buying a business gives you citizenship. I used to live in a regional city and there was a strip of shops on the corner of my street. The bakery was bought by Vietnamese, though they ran it properly, the food was decent and they employed lots of staff. But there was a strange shop, there was a bit of stock in the window, and always about ten people living in the shop, and the shop was never open, but continuously for sale. And constantly changing ownership. It was just a money making pathway to citizenship.

@robertruggiero9999 I did reply, but I think it got censored.

@infidel202 I did reply, it might be censored.

@Kelly-wf5ie I think so, is that when Australia became a corporation? 1973 was also when Whitlam introduced multiculturalism.
2
Concrete will be completely banned under net zero.
2
Actually it's been pretty bipartisan. The LNP loves immigration because of GDP. But Labor introduced multiculturalism in 1973 and immigration for them is about diversity and importing Labor voters.
2
All planned. Things need to get much worse so the people will accept owning nothing.
1
It was ON that successfully pushed for this during the Morrison government.

@Kelly-wf5ie Have you actually read the Australian constitution? We have no bill of rights. We are not the US, we have zero rights, and I mean zero, not even the right to free speech. All the constitution gives us is obligations. And again the constitution needs to be put into historical perspective. Long before federation Australia was a group of self governing democratic colonies, separate from Britain. The decision to federate was to achieve two goals. To stop all immigration from third world countries and to build a strong federal navy defence. I would argue that the federal government has completely failed in both these objectives and should be ended. We should go back to self governing states so we can at least vote with our feet on immigration and defence values we align with.

@secondchance6603 But don't be fooled. Ilegal immigrants are not our problem. It's the 1.6 million legal ones our government brings in.
