I’ve been to China, I’ve been to Hong Kong. I’m married to a Chinese born woman, and her son. We are visiting Taiwan right now. This place, should be a world heritage site. It is the hope for the world. I always thought Chinese culture to be crude, before coming here. The people here are polite, and charming. The temples, and spirituality, are sincere. If China was like Taiwan. We could have a really good chance, at peace and harmony.

@sharonhsu1762 Totally, it was clean, and the people felt grounded. My only complaint, is it was hard to find pro Taiwan shirts, or anything. Saw the flag, twice. You guys feel somewhat like us Canadians, proud, but don't show it much. In the shadow, of a big powerful nation, that can't stop talking about itself.

@once_upon_a_canopy_tree The people of Taiwan, live every day, with the threats from the CCP, over their heads. Yet they are composed, and centred. You should go, it'll change you perspective, on Chinese culture, it's depth.

@davidli9457 If you travel to both places. You will see what I mean. Taiwan, did not experience the ravages of Mao. Tearing down the old culture, and religion. Then living with, the Communist Party afterwards.

@BEZY-vk1hy Good for you, it's a great place. Hopefully we can go to Hong Kong, in the future. But it will probably never be the same again. Ukraine will get through this, with a heck of a lot of rebuilding. Hopefully, Russia doesn't implode. It doesn't have the political structure, to survive Putin.

@davidli9457 Read up about Mao. Not the party version. Foreign investment, and the peoples hard work, boosted the economy. Chinese people are very entrepreneurial, and hard working, given the chance.

@solconcordia4315 I'm so sorry for your loss, of what independence you had. HK, was great to visit. My comparison with Taiwan, and Canada. Is very superficial. I was referring to size, and noise. The USA, does strong arm us when it comes to trade, and duties. They complain, about our politics. But, we certainly do not have, the constant stress, of PSYOP operations, and the threat of invasion. You are right, as the inside passage opens up, Russia, the USA, and China. All want, control over it.

@solconcordia4315 Thank you for the mention. An impossible task, with a small garrison. When most of our young men were heading to Europe. I admire the Vietnamese. They have been occupied, by so many. Yet, they don't appear to hold resentment. They are proud, and welcoming. An example, that our friends in Beijing, could learn from.

They also suffer from, seriously thin skinned, insecurity. My worry, is one of them in power, is capable of murder-suicide, for the whole world. (rather than lose face).

@leoniegureghian4015 Hi Leonie, thanks I'm trying to be. While we can still communicate, on any forum. It is important, to speak against, the huge propaganda machine, surveillance, and profiling, etc. Before it is too late, it may already be. Two things, it's just wrong, to not push back. But more so, our next generation will have a tough enough time, with the demographic bubble, and environmental degradation. They certainly don't deserve to be, lower class citizens in their own countries, or in work camps.
