It's not hacking if it's done by the manufacturer's personnel. It's not hacking if it's baked into the software, if things like "linear transfer" (a euphemism for vote-flipping) is already in the code. That said, yeah, hacking is a real concern. Even if we didn't use electronic machines, someone is always going to look for a "fool-proof" way to cheat during an election, because of what's at stake. With all that going on, at least some hacking is almost certain. I hope those "misprinted" KY ballots were collected, destroyed, and replaced with properly printed ones before the election.
