  2. If all government agencies had true accountability, not to mention frugality and fiscal discipline, things would improve drastically and quickly. I'm not saying everything would be perfect, but it would be a good start. In this case, 'accountability' means being dismissed, losing your lavish pension and other perks, and possibly going to jail.

I don't know whether David Lammy, as a purely random example, holds a Guyanese passport, but if the British government ever went to war with Guyana, which side would he support? There are plenty clear conflicts of interest in Westminster and Whitehall.

If it had been spent on necessary stuff instead of welfare tourists and pointless managers and pen-pushers in the public sector, it wouldn't have been so bad.
