@montrelouisebohon-harris7023 It took the Germans 35 days to subdue Poland. Poland did not exist prior to 1918. It was a new country. In 1921 it had defeated the Soviet Union in the Battle of Warsaw. Poland continued to fight and helped the Allies decode the ENIGMA as well as capture a complete undamaged V2 rocket. Note that it took Germans 6 weeks to defeat the British and French on the continent. So given how much stronger France and Britain were compared to Poland and that Poland later had to fight the Russians, Poles were better soldiers than the French and British. If Americans were there they would also have been quickly defeated by the Germans. Germans were almost invincible. If Japan had to fight Germany, Japan would have been defeated much faster. In fact if Germany and Japan had a direct land border, there would have been a total defeat of the Japanese by the Germans.

She's OK. Unlike the Poms at least she acknowledges other nations. She's not on the level of Marek Budzisz but Americans have no area experts in Russia or Ukraine any more. Such jobs do not pay well. The best expert in terms of Russia however in terms of history would be Prof Andrzej Nowak.

The person who got good access into the Soviet archives and brought along a portable scanner, back in the early 90s was Vladimir Bukowsky. That guy was a legend. He appears in various films about General Jaruzelski by Greg Braun but he also appears in the Edwin Snores film, The Soviet Story.

@craigoliver8712 I heard about the Battle of Britain millions of times. Brits can't stop talking about it. It's as if WW2 was just the UK and Germany and nobody else and the rest of us non Brits should just shut up, eh? Eh Craig?

US isolationism is apparently to blame for Japan's aggression in Asia. But there is only a period of about a year between the passage of the isolationism bill and Japan's aggression in Asia. Is this enough time? Dr Paine says that Japanese moderates were pushed out because of US isolationism because Japan could not afford to lose the trade with the US so instead she chose to invade, conquer and exploit Manchuria and further afield. But 1 year seems to not be enough. Such invasions take many years to plan and to think up. Japan had imperialist ambitions in the region for many decades, you don't go from international friendly player to aggressor in one year.

@TeknoTim2002 The Whites would have been helped by Poland, the only country to actually defeat the Soviet Union in 1920. But the Whites wanted to recreate the Russian empire and enslave Poland. Hence we didn't help them. Note that Lenin was helped and sent to Russia by the Germans. The Germans created the monster of communist Russia. The Bolsheviks were aided by American money from New York. It's funny also how Red China was essentially made by Japan. In inflicting such heavy losses on KMT (and KMT on them) the Japanese allowed the Red to take over China. Now I suppose if PRC decides to attack Japan it will be their own chickens coming home to roost.

@cooterhead_jones I don't know what a top student is. You basically don't do area specialists anymore. US is also full of hubris.

@cooterhead_jones I don't know what a top student is. What's the science? There isn't any. You don't need "top" students. You just need average students who work diligently. This type of nonsensical characterisation of people makes me think you don't really know much about how professional people perform their work. Secondly why do you speak of things you don't know anything about? You posted platitudes here. How old are you and what's your education level? How do you know other kingdoms had higher levels of hubris? How do you know people follow propaganda? Maybe they follow culture? Maybe they follow experience? Maybe they read? So much wrong with what you wrote here. I mean you're trying to sound smart but it's a word salad. What do you mean you have a right to feel superior? How do you feel superior? What do you feel superior about? And how do you feel superior when it's not your achievement? Just to add how do you know the Western world has done it optimally or the best way it could be done? There is no way to know that. Also how do you put value on different aspects of life? Also as a Yank, you have control of the world and you use that to your advantage but you also exploit others, it's not clear they wouldn't have done better without you. This is an example of your own personal hubris in assuming what you have is optimal and best for others while it benefits you as you interfere even in your so called "allies". And why can't it be DNA? I suspect you think that some races are superior. You had to defend that but I suspect there is something in you which suspects that. Dude, US has much hubris because the US is world super power. It's not about healthcare or accountable government. It's about affecting billions of people through bad policy, pride and ignorance. I can't speak for Alexander the Great but it's not as if his successes or failures effected the whole world. Your whole response smells of hubris. Was it written by AI? Or did you come up with those brown nuggets yourself?

@gracevandenbergen Poland did not exist. It was partitioned. It was cut up in 3 parts and occupied by Germany, Russia and Austro-Hungary. Please learn history.

@gracevandenbergen Poland did not exist between 1795 and 1918. It was cut up by allies of the United Kingdom, namely Austro-Hungary, Prussia (later Germany) and Russia. We were oppressed and Germanifed and Russified. Polish patriotism survived largely thanks to the work of the Catholic Church and numerous people who wrote in Polish around the world or composed music in Polish (Chopin, Penderecki). Poles were not allowed to use Polish officially and schools only taught in Russian or German. Kids had to learn about Poland at home. And in 1918 after the snakes turned on each other (Austro-Hungarians, Germans and Russians) we managed to get freedom with the help of Woodrow Wilson (who is so hated by so many American 'patriots') and our own hard work.
1
@gracevandenbergen Dude, I said that originally. Saying it did not exist prior to 1918 in the context of the conversation is not to say it never existed and the people didn't exist under occupation. Why are you so needlessly pedantic? Context matters.

@gracevandenbergen It's nice to see Dutch people defend my country so much.

@gracevandenbergen That was chosen by YT for me. You chose van der...

@gracevandenbergen It's still nice that a non-Pole is so strong for Poland. Are you strong for a pro German Poland (EU), pro-Russian Poland (Rus troll) or independent Poland (independent and good relations with USA)?
