  7. The same is said for Europe and even US. The rest of the world is catching up. The West had an advantage with the Industrial Revolution but now even Chinese make CPUs and India is sending rockets to space.

  8. Japan is not competitive. You were more competitive than European worker, but China/Viet worker is better than you. Look you are living beyond your means. You will have to become poor like before Meiji.

  10.  @BoredInTheComments  Because Japan is a protectorate of the US. And China wants to dominate the area and maybe one day even who knows. install a government in Japan which is pro Chinese. It will depend on how people accept China as their master. Why? Because that's where China is heading. US is currently there but US uses a mix of soft power and hard power. But US influence is waning and Chinese is on the rise.

  13. It's not the birthrate. It's the fact that Asia and others are outperforming them. When last did you buy a Japanese product? In the 80s and 90s, all our products were Japanese or Dutch, now it's all Korean, German and Chinese. Even German is made in China. When China makes better anime games (Mihoyo) and Japanese play those, than Japanese can make you know the heyday of Japan is over. In the 90s and 80s Akihabara was about newest tech. Now newest tech is made by Nvidia/Asus/MSI/Apple/etc. Even SONY no longer makes laptops. Who makes OLED panels? Korea and China. SHarp has closed their business. Pioneer/Panasonic/Sony/Hitachi closed their OEM business.

  14. The problem is the decline of Japanese economy. Because there is now competition from others. How did Japan get so filthy rich? They built stuff faster than American and European workers. But now Chinese/Viet/Thai/etc workers are outperforming them. Chinese and Koreans make better video games than Japan. They make better music than Japan. They make better TV than Japan. They build better ships than Japan. They build better TV/electronics/etc than Japan. What can Japan offer?
